Mariellen Garman, president, opened Ad 1 in 1987 after managing the in-house advertising agency of Cinemette Theaters and freelancing for Warner Brothers in L.A. and New York.

Paul Ramsdell, vice president, spent 18 years in hotel/restaurant management – the majority with Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Hilton International, and a stint as manager of M’s, an exclusive fine-dining restaurant in Ligonier, PA.

With one Hyatt hotel in 1988, Ad 1 has grown to boast partnerships with a healthy number of hospitality clients including Hyatt, Renaissance, Marriott, Westin and Sheraton.

We currently provide ongoing marketing and advertising support to VisitPittsburgh, the city’s convention and visitors bureau, promoting the organization’s tourism, cultural and convention sales efforts.
